Discover the Story of Rayo De Sol

Rayo De Sol, Spanish for sunshine, is a recipe originating in the Dominican Republic and brought to America by the Dominican population, used to enhance the flavor of any dish from proteins, to salads, dare I say even mixing well with tequila. Dominicans take pride in their cuisine and ingredients and at Rayo de Sol so do we. every jar made by hand from every lime squeezed to every onion chopped. all our ingredients are organic and have no added chemicals or preservatives. with an emphasis on quality food rayo de sol is something to be shared at the family table, festivals, and cookouts rayo de sol can be there to make your meals shine!​

What is it for?

Rayo de sol is not limited to just acting as a marinade. its unique flavor and texture provide many different uses for different types of foods. 

 

  • to start marinading proteins such as chicken, beef, pork, fish before cooking to help break down tougher meats with acidity, while adding flavor.

  • use it after cooking like a condiment.

  • its lime based, so make a ceviche with it! 

​

  • because of the lime it also mixes well with tequila as a chaser!

​

  • use it as a mignonette for oysters or clams or shrimp!

​

  • skirt, hanger steaks are perfect for Rayo de sol!
